Thank you for your patience as a team of our members worked with Roundtree Agency to design and finalize this new logo. It took much longer than anticipated as we refined, discussed, prayed, and sought outside input. We hope you are as pleased as we are with the outcome. To introduce and explain our new mark, I’d like to offer this illustration: Baskets, nets, clothing, rope—what do all these have in common besides being dead useful for our everyday lives? They are all made from individual strands of material, which are far too weak to be useful on their own, but when interwoven they become nearly unbreakable and terribly helpful.

One of the founding values of Highland Park Fellowship is the beauty of the interdependence of the Body of Christ. When we use our gifts individually and collectively a basket is woven, a net is tied. We are far stronger and more useful when we are intertwined in Christ. The people of God, operating in this fashion, can bring food to the hungry, catch the falling, and carry loads that would be far too heavy for any individual.  We aim to form this kind of community as a church, with the Church, and for our city.

Our new logo represents this calling to be interwoven by Christ into a strong union consisting of individual parts. I hope when you see this mark you remember the ways God’s church has held and supported you. I hope you envision how we may do that for others. I hope you see a city-wide, world-wide interwoven people of God for the good of His world.

We all know that a logo is just some colors and lines until the organization begins to instill meaning into the mark. To that end, let’s continue, as the Rescued people of the Living God, to become this ‘dead useful’ union in the hands of our Savior.

Grateful to be part of Christ’s Interwoven People with you,

Pastor Corby Shields
